If we're going to get all pedantic about semantics, I'll point out
that terms such as CS4 or RPM aren't really acronyms, but rather
initialisms or abbreviations (although I think the de facto definition
of acronym is expanding to include initialisms).  Traditionally, an
acronym is an abbreviation that becomes a word of it's own, one that
you can pronounce.  Examples would be SONAR or SCOTUS.
