A classic problem is related to spam filters. The confirmation message, which is necessary to prevent someone else form un subscribing you, may come from a slightly different address than you have in a a from-allowed list.

If you have the capability, have a look at your spam folder or mailbox, If not you may need to turn off spam filtering for a day or so. It's entirely possible that spam and net-neutrality will kill the internet but, for now, your attention to detail will likely work.
