[G4] (no subject)

Just purchased iPad 2 and nsew 4 S to replace old 3g. Have Mac 10.7.2 (just updated to Lion, required to get Cloud). Finished installation of Lion and 
I get two "no go" signs on my printer and Word. It say "can't open application because power PC apps no longer supported." I can't believe I have to scrap
my applications, and purchase a new printer and a new writing platform. Tell me I'm right. Please!
