[G4] New to the list, have a question!

In my G4 MDD, I'm using a 1 GHZ Dual processor. I am told that the fastest
processor board available
for the MDD is a Dual 1.25. So, there wouldnt be much gain for me.
But I'd put a 1.5 GHZ Dual board in there if I could.

Greetings Donald,

According to "Mactracker" the fastest processor that the G4 AGP
platform was available from Apple was a 500Mhz dual processor.
Therefor if your AGP is reporting a faster speed it has a modified PPC
printed circuit board.

If you look hard on the internet there are instruction regarding
changing the processor speed. It has to do with changing some
resistors on the processor card.

There are any number of various processor up-grades available. You
might want to check OWC (OtherWorldComputing)
http://otherworldcomputing.com/
for all of the items that are still on the shelf for this computer.

If you become interested in a upgrade let me know I have a 1.2Mh
PowerLogix PowerForce 7455 that I was using in my 1999 G4 AGP, I've
since moved up to a MDD 1.25Mh Dual processor. Contact me off-line

Cheers,
Harry
