[G5] Ubuntu on G5 single anyone?

No, but I've been threatening to boot up my G5 2x2 from a copy of
Ubuntu that I got recently. I'm not about to actually try to install
it, I'm just curious to see it running. For me it doesn't make any
real sense to try to run Linux on a Mac. The only real use I have
for Linux is a couple of Linux/x86 specific apps (partially written
in x86 ASM).
Based on a couple of reviews that Anandtech ran recently on the
server side, it would be interesting to try to figure out how Linux
on a G5 compares to Mac OS X for user apps. For the server testing
they were doing, Linux was up to 8x faster :^(
