MS office with OS 9 and X

Help I installed OS X "Jaguar", 9.2.1, and office vX (the OSX native
version of office) on my powerbook. I have been booting up mostly in 9.2
because I need to work and I haven't set up mail and networking yet in
OSX. Now when I doulbe click on any office doc it tries to open the OSX
version and of course gives me an error. I can drop the doc directly on
the office 98 icon and it opens correctly but I want to get
double-clicking-the-doc to work again what do I need to do?
