Parental control software

what software are people using for parental control? Right now I am 
testing kidsgogogo. I use Earthlink as an ISP and am dissapointed that 
they do not have a free Mac product like they do for Windows users. 
Also any general advice in this area is appreciated. I take it that if 
you use AOL the parental controls are done at the ISP, but for 
earthlink you have to install the software on your machine. Why is 
that?
