This was the LCIII+ under another name. No, you can only hook up an 
older Mac monitor to it (although, if memory serves, there were some 
monitors that supported Mac video modes, but required an adaptor).

Until you get the monitor, plug it in, turn it on -- nice chime, it 
probably works; ugly chime, it doesn't.
