Nero is excellent -- but it's for Windows.

To make a movie? You need money and talent, in that order (the latter 
being optional).

To write a movie to DVD? No, this drive should work fine with your 
machine, provided you have Jaguar or later. See

If "it" is the drive, no, you can't attach it to the TV to record 
movies. You can only attach it to a computer. If "it" is the Mac, the 
answer is again no; you need a digitizer or converter (which can be a 
digital camera) to convert to DV the signal provided by the TV.
