In-Reply-To: Message-ID: <20060512160434.97645.qmail@web30406.mail.mud.yahoo.com> The A/V adaptor for iBooks sends the screen image out via S-Video BUT, does anyone know if it will take S-video IN from a VHS player and into iMove. Got a couple of importent old family videos I would like to import into iMovie and edit before the tape finaly goes bad. If not, any suggestions! Many thanks, Howard Scudder Clarksville TN. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! I also belong to the following list, which discusses questions such as this all the time. MacDV mailing list: MacDV@listserver.themacintoshguy.com http://listserver.themacintoshguy.com/mailman/listinfo/macdv Give it a try. It's very helpful, and it's also very active. You'll probably get an answer pretty quickly. I'd help you myself, but I think most of the people on the list know much more than I do. One thing I'm pretty sure of, however, is that you can't just import those files straight into iMovie without converting them to digital files in some way. That's where the other list will help you. If you have a DV camera you can do this: Connect the S-Video out from your VCR to the S-Video in on your DV camera. Connect the firewire out from the DV camera to the Firewire in of your iBook. Fire up the DV camera and the VCR, and then launch iMovie. You should be able to stream your VCR tape directly into iMovie. jack From mawgadog at tin.it Fri May 12 17:27:24 2006 From: mawgadog at tin.it (Richard Clark) Date: Fri May 12 17:27:35 2006 Subject: [HM] S-Video in? Only one, after you edit it put it back on tape, it will outlast any of the other media around. Richard
