Any Sony MicroMV solutions yet?

This is my first post to the list but I think I've checked the archives and
web as much as possible.

My boss made the mistake of buying a Sony IP55 which uses MicroMV instead of
DVI.  While it has an iLink/Firewire port, he can't download the movies to
his Mac.  Has anyone found a way to do this short of playing the movie
through another device and then capturing on the Mac?  He wants the ability
to use iMovie but is REALLY hesitant to give up his tiny camera.
