When you burned the .img files using Toast, did you set Toast for 
"Multitrack CD-ROM XA"? That's the format needed for Toast to "figure 
out" what to do with those .img files to turn them into an SVCD.

Sounds like you created a data CD with two files on it, rather than an 
SVCD.
