Joan,

you can always do a selected screen capture. that saves the portion 
of the screen you want as a PICT file.

to do this hold the shift and Apple key. then press the number 4 key.
your curser turns into a cross hair. just drag around the portion of 
the screen you want to save as a PICT file, then release the mouse 
button.

then you can import that PICT into a document and add any text you would like.
