Sorta.

Yes, generally. As a rule of thumb, if the DVD player will play 
"home-burned" audio cds or MP3cds, it will probably play VCD/SVCDs. A 
number of popular (read: low-end) Sony models, I've found, do not ... 
but then they don't play anything other than pressed, commercial DVDs.

No menus in the DVD sense of the word. Primitive navigation.

can maintain that average over the course of a year, Apple will sell 
more music than any other retail music source. And that's BEFORE you 
add in countries outside the US, and Windows users. Woah.
