Transfer 8mm tape to iMac

I have one 8mm tape that I want to import into my iMac for editing. I don't
want to buy a Sony converter or the like since I have only one tape to
import. Does anyone know of any good service places that would do it for me,
that would not cost too much. I want to be able to edit it and then write it
to a DVD using my iMac DVD-R.

Has anyone had any experience at doing this?
