I just use a sharp object (screwdriver, scissors) and gouge a deep 'X" 
across the data side of the CD. Its going to take special software and 
equipment to read anything from one of those, so unless you have very 
sensitive information you think someone would be willing to spend a lot 
of time and money uncovering, that will be sufficient.
