I don't have Audio X, but here's a couple generic questions that 
might point you to a solution.

Does Audio X have some sort of "play-through" option that causes it 
to plays its input to the Mac's output?

Have you selected the audio-out destination in the Output tab of the 
Sound System Preference panel?
