Firewire HDD Experience

I had been using a Maxtor 80 GB drive, but it kept falling off my Mac
and my PC without apparent reason.  I took it to bits but could not see
any problem such as a dry joint.

So I bought another Firewire HDD - on the recommendation of someone on
this list I bought a LaCie 120 GB model.  Not only is the build quality
(at least of the case!) superb but it worked immediately straight out of
the box and continues to do so.  I use one partition as a scratch disk
for Final Cut Express and it works fine.

Thanks to whomever it was who recommended it.
