Output to miniDV tape

I'm confused- as usual! And I've already checked the manual. It didn't 
help.

I have a five minute video that has been edited in FCE. I want to send 
that video to someone else in maximum quality, uncompressed form (or as 
uncompressed as it gets in DV). The next person will be using the 
uncompressed video to create a Quicktime movie. I can't create the 
Quicktime movie myself, because I don't know exactly how much room will 
be available for it on the finished audio CD.

The manuals tell me to just play the video in the timeline and record 
the output using the VCR side of my camcorder. But the manual doesn't 
tell me anything about the specs of the resulting video on the tape. 
Will this be full quality DV that will provide the maximum possible 
quality to the next person making the Quicktime movie?
