And in case you haven't done this before (sounds like you haven't), 
keep in mind an hour of video captured as DV will take 12-13 GB of 
drive space.

Also, just so you know, IIRC this will take a 1 GHz G4 2-3 hrs to 
process. Of the few export options I've tried with iMovie, this is by 
far the slowest (this being the Toast VCD export).
