Many of the Sony cameras have a pass through mode that allows the 
camera to act as a bridge so there's no "wear and tear".

http://denisx.dyndns.org/extractor (the site doesn't seem to be up 
right now) will give you an MP2 audio file. Use iTunes to convert that 
to an MP3 audio file, and you're good to go.
