iBook G3/500 Hell Part II

Hey,

I purchased a used G3/500 (SNOW iBook) from a user on eBay. The original
adapter (AC) was too warn and eventually failed to work (iBook does not
power up). Now he sent me a Yo-Yo adapter and nothing happens. Is my
battery dead? Is my iBook dead? What gives? Can the iBook power up with the
adapter alone? How do you charge the battery/know if it is charging? Has
anyone had this much trouble with an iBook?
