IEEE 1394 is only requirement?

One more question if you everybody doesn't mind.

A miniDV camera just needs to be IEEE 1394 compliant to allow for 
importing into FCP, correct? Just because it doesn't show up on 
apple's "FCP device qualifications" that just means you can't control 
the camera operation from within the FCP program, correct?
