[MacDV] HI-8 repair help

They are worth fixing because of the time code, LANC computer control, and excellent
tape handling. Any competent VCR facility could re-align the transport. Plus, this
doesn't even sound like a repair that would need parts. Having several units means you
could cannibalize one if a piece has reached the end of its life.

I'd look locally for a business that has been there 15 years+ and go in for a
consultation.
