Video/Audio Sync Decay

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have a 1:51:00 project in Final Cut Express.  I'm trying to transfer the
finished work to a VCR using my XL1 has a pass-through.

Everything starts fine, but by the end of the tape there is a ~2 second
difference between the video and the audio track.

What am I doing wrong?
Any ideas?


For what it's worth this is my first project in FCE.
