It happens when you play an analog tape. Most of the time. You don't 
see it because the Bezel or frame of the TV hides it. Underscan 
monitors, projectors and QT fullframe show it. A widescreen letterbox 
type effect  (probably available as a filter in QT Pro ) will hide it.
