I have a Canon Optura 200MC and have had good luck with the stage-light
setting in school auditoriums for talent shows. I highly recommend
getting a monopod if you don't already plan on using a tripod. Even a
light camera can be hard to keep steady over an extended time. The
monopod allows me to shoot from my seat, and move quickly and easily
from one place to another. If you have a spare battery, great.
Otherwise you may want to take your AC adapter along if you can find a
handy outlet. Carry everything you might possibly need with you, it's
far better to take something you didn't need than to need something and
not have it handy.

Regards,
		Joey Kennedy.
