Yup, he is saying if you want to ever edit your converted footage . . 
. you want DV format.
Should be a breeze with iDVD 5 to just burn directly from your mini 
DV tape it all you want is a quick copy of the conversion (which is 
all they would do).

I imagine they would charge more for a DVD then a mini DV tape????
