[MacDV] Keeping .mac?

Convenience, convenience, convenience.

.Mac just makes things easy.
Besides the aforementioned,
I like the aliases for the email account (avoiding spam),
it's an easy way to move larger files from home to office,
the public folder lets others transfer files,
it is quick backup for important documents,
and since I have several Macs, I can't say enough about synching of address
book, calendars and bookmarks.

It is a breeze to post photo albums and video direct from iPhoto or iMovie.
My extended family, around the world, enjoys keeping in touch. Even my son's
fun little videos or a quick minute or two of my daughter's solo at a middle
school concert make a big hit. My son at college, Grandma in Florida and the aunt
in California love it.

Also for convenience... when on sale, I register cheap domain names ($2 -
$10) and just forward them to make the URL easier for folks to remember. For
example, Godaddy.com had .info names for $1.95 back in December. With the simple
menu, I can link to various sites, a blog, article or albums and point to all
of it with jklworld.info.

Or, for $9.95, I register at inames-r.us and get unlimited subdomain
forwards, such as deca.wbschools.net or nhs.wbschools.net. With .Mac it is fast and
easy to share events and communicate.

My 2¢.

Jamie
