Presuming you have the PPT slides exported as pictures and then imported
to iMovie and you have a running video of the presenter presenting, you
can use the "paste over special" command in the Advanced menu to lay the
PPT slides on top of the video track without worrying about losing sync.
Just make sure you've set the duration of the slide before you copy and
paste over special onto the video track.
