To a point. Adequate rather than optimal in my case...
'Am hoping that going from:
a 800 MHz G4, 133MHz bus, ATI Mob Radeon 7500 with 32MB vRAM, 1 GB RAM
to:
a 2GHz G5, 667MHz bus, ATI Radeon 9600 with 128MB DDR SDRAM; 2 GB RAM [with
a 1680 x 1050 screen thrown in (iMac)]
will be an adequate power boost to keep FCP performing reasonably for about
$2k .
To go with a (fabulous) dual 2.3 plus a 20" screen plus 2GB RAM is about
$3.3k
So, unless there's a killer caveat (?), the iMac (with hack) looks like good
value.
