I want to make sure that is the proper format and that it won't destroy the device. Anyone have suggestions for formatting such devices? Should I try with a PC instead? Most players offer an option to format or initialize the player. I'd strongly suggest using that if possible. Next best would be a utility supplied by the MP3 manufacturer (yes Windows based.) Most of the players use FAT (DOS) to access their memory and won't know what to do with a UNIX format. -- MrPopman - Does anybody want to play a game of Pinball?
