[MV] use Dictation as written Text- with ipad3 and MacBook 10.6.8

I have tried the mac dictation software. It works fairly well. 
The only problem is it doesn't learn like Dragon. However it is free whereas Dragon cost between $100 & $200. 

How old is your MacBook?  If it is a 13 inch Oct 2008 or later you can run Mavericks.
