If there were any other measureable signs of progress in this area, like more than just one update (which hardly seemed to have any impact on performance) , I would not be commenting. However I see a lot of hype, promotion and schmoozing to impress investors which is great to raise new funds. However from a poor bastard’s point of view that is attempting to use a partially defective product, that has been hailed as the latest messiah for speech technology for the Mac, to earn a living it is quite another. <BR>

>From another perspective that does not appears to be considered in this financial equation is that happy enthusiastic users/clients can generate more good will, publicity and resulting ROI at a mere fraction of the cost of comparative promotion such as the shows and other types of media circuses... That is, of course, provided those creating the product have the faith in the product and the necessary integrity to honor MacSpeak’s responsibility to those who have already plunked down their hard dollars. <BR>

MacSpeak was represented as a fully developed product; not as beta version. Most all software is in a constant state of refinement but it really has a requirement to fill some basic functionality before being released as a real and fully functional product. The fact that MacSpeak makes an initial first impressive appearance was very misleading and in my opinion this was no secret to the developer and indeed, in fact a crucial part of the strategy to raise funding.<BR>
