[PB] New adventure: s-video to TV via DVD player

I recently bought an s-video card so that I could play movies from my
PB to my tv.

My tv does not have an s-video input, but my DVD player does.  I
followed the instructions: turn off computer, DVD player and TV.  Then
plugged the cable in and turned it all on.  When I tried to get the PB
 to detect displays it didn't find anything.

Help files and Apple's site doesn't give me any hints (most assume
that the TV has s-video input).

I'd appreciate any help.
