Under normal circumstances should the memory checking that is present 
in the Apple Diagnostics CD that came with my powerbook complete 
succesfully? I have 2x256MB DIMMS. roughly how long should the memory 
test take for that configuration?

For me when it got to the memory test it appeared to hang the program.

Still trying to track down the source of my kernel panics.
