[Ti] Changing format

I tried to convert through Get Info, Quicktime and Graphic Converter, 
but each time it says it can't understand the format.   Now on many of 
the jpeg files it says that the resource map is bad.  I assume this is 
the problem with a lot of the files i was able to copy off of the 
offending drive.  How do I re-map the resources?  By the way, thanks 
for your help.  it's nice to have a community where help is so 
available.  This is one more reason I love my Macs.
