Card bus

Hello all...
I recently purchased a Digigram VX Pocket for my Ti400. Unfortunately, I 
cannot get my computer to recognize this or any other PC card. I've used 
PC cards in this computer before, but I haven't used one in over a year. 
Apple System profiler says this (whether or not there is a card in the 
slot):

Card type:	cardbus
Card name:	cardbus
Card model:	TXN,PCI1211-00
Card ROM #:	Not available
Card revision:	0
Card vendor ID:	104c
Ethernet address:	<not applicable>

Is this just information about the slot? How do I test whether the slot 
is dead?
