Tim - OS 10.1.5 seems  a long time ago, so I can only tell you what I 
do under 10.2.3 (although nothing may have changed, with respect to 
your question).

When I have downloaded MP3 files using Limewire 2.8.6, I simply drag 
the downloaded mp3 files, from the Limewire download folder, on to 
the iTunes 3 icon in the Dock. End of story.
It really is that simple.

I think iTunes is a great piece of software.  I have put most of 
music on to my Ti-500 now.
1752 songs, 8.15 Gb of disk space.
