Ken - I agree.  There is perhaps a certain sense of democracy on this 
list.  If the existing community welcomes new members, then it should 
be OK.  My personal view is that the scope could easily be enlarged 
to include the Al-books.  The Woz had suggested that we call this 
list the Me-List (metal - titanium , aluminium).  I expect that there 
would be large overlap (OS X, peripherals, portability, Airport, 
software, disk formatting, utilities, etc) between a Ti list and a 
theoretical parallel Al-list, that would not justify them being 
separate.
