Thankyou to everyone who weighed in on the good, the bad and the ugly of different e-mail programs! . but now, if you don't mind, I have a follow-up question: Michael Bigley said that it's "never easy to switch" from a proprietary database app., like Outlook Express, to the a Unix mbox format, like Eudora, and I'd like to know if this is what he means... Here's the problem: when I imported my three year's worth of e-mails from OE into Eudora, all the original 'from' settings became just the one ('Malcolm Hamilton', my name) and all the original 'date received' settings became just one date (the date I imported all the e-mails). Suddenly there's no order to the hundreds of e-mails I've had from my dad over the years! I can't sort by date, which is the order I'd like them to be in, because they're all the same date. My first question is this: Have I overlooked doing something obvious when importing into Eudora (or exporting from OE)... some setting that will fix this? Or, failing that: is there not some little app or utility or applescript or whatever out there, that would convert from a proprietary to an mbox format - - and allow me to keep the original dates and 'from's??? Thank you so much for any advice! Malcolm
