Flipper gave you some good advice.  I use ProTools on my G4 tower and have 
use ProTools free on the Ti.  Pinnacle Cinewave is a great capture board and 
can handle everything from DV to HDTV.

But it seems to me that your friend needs video streaming to a server for 
capture and later retrieval for editing on the Ti.  The object then would be 
to set up a web server to receive remotes from your locations in Europe.  I
