Software update

All of a sudden Software Update doesn't work.  When I run it, or when 
it runs itself, It keeps saying it has run into a problem and fails.  
This has just started happening over the last few weeks.  I've run  
several utilites, pre-bound, emptied caches and generally sought a 
problem that doesn't show itself, except for Software Update.  Has any 
one else seen this?			
I'm have been running 10.2.6 for several months without a problem, 
though I don't really consider this current Software Update a real 
problem.  It's just that when something stops working, you have to 
wonder why.
