I'm not sure that observation on itself will inhibit G5 PB's.

  the CPU is one part of the equation, but don't forget that there is a 
(kickass Radeon) Graphics card (AGP) to cool also, as well as minor 
cooling for the other components.

Also I believe Apple's aim was to develop a quiet case. I have a (not 
overclocked) 2.6Ghz PC gaming computer with 7 fans running, but at very 
low speeds so the overall effect is efficient cooling with low noise.

so there may be hope yet....

If they don't deliver there is always the Centrino.... j/k
