Yes, once you close the lid, you'll see the small light on the lid of 
the TiBook, opposite to its position below the screen. Just try and 
you'll see.

You can leave it plugged.

I guess that if you *don't* close the lid and put the TiBook in the 
bag, the heat could damage something (though I think that the first

 From the small light. If it is on the computer is sleeping.
