Tim,

Mike is right. His point is that all of us on this list should uphold the law. If we are wrong on the matter of law on this issue educate us as to how distributing copyrighted material without expressed permission is legal. Ignoring it only exacerbates the issue. And what you want us to do is ignore the law and focus on Mac issues. Steve Wozniak's point is that these are not mutually exclusive concepts, they are inexorably linked and here's how. You said:

That is true. But if we look the other way as listers violate the copyright law we put this whole list at risk. Look at the reality: so far we have had listers encouraging copying of copyrighted software programs, explaining how to defeat demos, copying and illegally distributing copyrighted music and lifting copyrighted printed material for posting in our archives. Sorry if there are listers who don't like it but that is against the law. And we have to stop it.

Just how far do we let this go? What do an author's rights mean? I too want to get back to Mac issues, but not if takes means breaking the law and if that makes me an angel dancing on the head of a pin I sincerely thank you for the compliment. From the off list e-mails I have received there are more of us angels out there then you devils. ;-) lol
