[OT] Safari dies

A few weeks ago Safari quit displaying pages. Just a white, blank 
page, and either a spinning rainbow, which required a force quit, or 
just a complete loss of communication with the web, no matter what 
URL.  No errors are being reported.

Resetting, ditching prefs have no result. The jag.8 upgrade seemed to 
help for a while, but  now I cannot use it at all. Apple KB said it 
could have to do with DNS, but trying different DNS solutions doesn't 
have any affect either.

Any suggested fixes out there?
