There is a hook that swings down, pulled by magnetic force just before the 
lid reaches full closure. Close the lid very slowly and hold it a couple of 
millimeters open and you should see it. If this fails to swing down, some 
graphite lubricant or silicone-based lubricant like WD-40 was useful when 
mine was intermittant.
