Negative.  Airport Extreme is 802.11g which still uses 2.4GHz.  The 
lesser-used 802.11a runs on 5.8GHz.

Faster, yes, but more distance limited than standard 11Mb/sec wireless. 
  And much more sensitive to obstructions like walls, fishtanks full of 
water, large stacks of paper, etc.
