On Thu, May 20, 2004, the following words from David DelMonte ddelmonte at mac.com, emerged from a plethora of SPAM ... >Despite my questions on this yesterday, as a Mac User since 1986, I >don't believe I have ever had a virus. I've been a Mac user since 1993 and have also never encountered a virus on any of my Macs. I know many pc users who have gotten viruses as little as 2 weeks ago. One of the problems I am seeing is that many newbie and unskilled pc users do not want to buy anti-viral software - they feel the platform is the majority, therefore should be built-in. But they don't mind using freeware antivirus software that has proven totally useless. Another thing, as much as I try to give advice to the contrary, they love to send mass emails to everyone in their address book of every story, tidbit, joke and basically junk without considerate use of BCC. It really ires me that a lot of people get sent my email address when I can't trust that they use antivirus software to prevent my email address being harvested for spam and worms. -- Take a music bath once or twice a week for a few seasons, and you will find that it is to the soul what the water bath is to the body. - Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809 - 1894) * 867 PowerBook G4 * OS X 10.2.8 * 768 MB Ram * * Addictions: iTunes 4 * WarCraft * The Sims * FileMaker Pro
